In My Mailbox from December 2011

This IMM is exciting because it has the Christmas Haul!! Which, in terms of books, was actually zero. But in terms of other things, very exciting. As you shall see.

Borrowed from the Library
Venetia by Georgette Heyer -- My first Heyer; here's hoping I enjoy it!
The Boyfriend List by E. Lockhart
Spark by Dr. John Ratey -- We have checked this book out three times now for my husband. I might actually read it this time.
Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? And Other Concerns by Mindy Kaling

NetGalley
Life is But A Dream by Brian James
Second Person Singular by Sayed Kashua
Pieces of Us by Margie Gelbwasser
Paris, My Sweet by Amy Thomas

Gift:
A Kindle Keyboard!! YAY! I had a second generation Kindle which was in bad condition, with a shattered joystick and cracks around the edges. This new Kindle is much sleeker, has faster wireless connection, is graphite instead of white (so won't get dirty), and has a joystick that won't shatter. I am really excited and hoping to make it last longer than my first Kindle. My husband got the Kindle Fire, so we have been having fun playing with that as well.

How were your bookish Christmases? Any wonderful books showing up in your mailboxes?

  3. Fun books! I have a few books I've gotten from the library (more than once) and never do get around to reading. I'm going to renew one today, in fact. :)
I'm happy you liked The Boyfriend List. That is such a funny series. I'll have to look for your review of Life is But a Dream, too. That's another one I'd like to read.

  4. I've been hearing good things about Mindy Kaling's book! Also, if you find yourself liking Heyer, definitely try her book The Nonesuch - it's a lot of fun :)

  5. @Sam -- I'll have to see what you think of it, too! I think it will be the next book I read.

@kitten roar -- Yay! What kind of Kindle did you get? I am loving mine!

@kathy -- I definitely do that too! I have so many on hold and I have to keep suspending my request so I can check it out when I have time. At this rate, though, it will be time for me to move before I get to all of them.

@danya -- Kaling's book is a lot of fun! And thanks for the Heyer recommendation -- I will definitely keep that in mind.
