Lucky me!

Every Book and Cranny has graciously awarded me the Versatile Blogger Award. :) It's been a bit of a bummer day, as I have permanently lost my phone (aka thrown it away in a cafeteria, gone through two garbage cans, no luck) so this was a welcome pick-me-up. Plus, it led me to a lovely new blog to read.

The rules are:
  1. Share 7 things about myself
  2. Pass the award to 15 bloggers recently discovered
  3. Notify the blogger recipients
  4. Link to the blogger who gave the award
#4, check.

Hmm seven things about myself...
1. I was an English major for exactly one semester. I enjoyed it, but I knew I would be reading all the time even if I was studying something else, so I decided to try something new.
2. I have played the piano for 15 years - it is my favorite thing to do (other than reading!)
3. I have been married for three months and thirteen days, and I love it!
4. I love Indian food. I could eat it every day and not get tired of it. My favorite dish is mutter paneer, basically peas and cheese in delicious spices.
5. I am addicted to Simon and Garfunkel and listen to them more than any other musical group.
6. I have a bucket list.
7. I once went skinny-dipping in the Mediterranean. (No, this wasn't on the bucket list - but it should have been!)

Now to pass on the blogger joy...
I am going to follow the example of Every Book and Cranny and pass along to 5 blogs instead of 15 as well... Not because I don't think there are 15 blogs out there who are deserving of the award, but because I read fewer than 15 blogs on a regular basis. And the winners are...
1. Coffee and a Book Chick
2. The Striped Armchair
3. Fingers and Prose
4. ProSe
5. Literary Musings

Thanks again - give these blogs a visit!

  2. Thank you so much for the award! I'm glad to have found you too. And I'm hoping the same thing as Brenna...I'm waiting with cringing anticipation to see what you think about The Alchemist. :)

  3. I'm so sorry I'm just now seeing this! Thank you so much for passing the award onto me!! Ooh, yes -- I'm waiting as well for your thoughts on The Alchemist -- you may convince me to go ahead and pick up a copy! Or shall I run screaming from it? I can't wait to read your thoughts on it!

  5. That's interesting that you were an English major for a semester. I wasn't exactly an English major but I also took one semester of English courses after graduation while I was working part-time. I wasn't quite ready to fully join the "real world" so that seemed like a worthwhile diversion. :)

  6. @ Brenna and Melody - I am taking a long time getting through The Alchemist, which is probably some indication of how I'm enjoying it - not that much, since it's taking me weeks to get through a short little book. Hopefully I'll finish it in the next few days.

@ Coffee and a Book Chick - So far I'm pretty ambivalent on it. Nothing special, but nothing awful either. We'll see if the last few pages change my mind!

@Eva - Yay! You have good taste!

@Everybookandcranny - That sounds like fun! I wish I'd taken a few more English courses or maybe done a minor. Oh well...
