This week's Top Ten Tuesday, hosted by
The Broke and the Bookish, asks which books are the top ten favorites read during the lifespan of one's blog. I've read so many awesome books since I
started writing The Story Girl on August 8, 2010, I think many of my favorites were discovered in the lifespan of this blog.
1. The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
2. The Age of Innocence by Edith Wharton
3. The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern
4. Chime by Franny Billingsley
5. The Winter of Our Discontent by John Steinbeck
6. Revolution by Jennifer Donnelly
7. Born Confused by Tanujah Desai Hidier
8. The Bean Trees by Barbara Kingsolver
9. Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel
10. The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield
Honestly, there are so many more books I could add to this list. These ten are some of the first that popped into my mind as books that stand out as books that I just
loved since I started this blog. Blogging really gives the opportunity to discover new books -- I love it!
I had Revolution on my list too! Ahhh and I love love love Born Confused and wish more people would read it.
ReplyDeleteAnd omg I was thisclose to putting The Night Circus and Chime on my list.
Great taste!
My Top Ten Tuesday
I should say the same for you! Haha. I agree, Born Confused needs more love!
Deletelovely covers-- kaye—the road goes ever ever on
ReplyDeleteThe books between them are even better. :)
DeleteI've had Chime, The Book Thief and The Night Circus all checked out from the library and didn't have time to read them! One of these days I'm going to remedy that. :)
ReplyDeleteOh no, they are all so good! I hope you get the chance to read them soon!
DeleteGood list and I loved The Book Thief as well.
ReplyDeleteThank you! The Book Thief is definitely a powerful book.
DeleteOh, so many lovely, lovely books! Revolution got an honorable mention on my list. I think I listened to The Book Thief pre-blog, otherwise it would have been on my list.
ReplyDeleteIn some ways it was nice that this was the lifespan of the blog only... I would have had a much longer list with pre-blog books for sure!
DeleteThe Thirteenth Tale was AWESOME!!! Chime just doesn't look good to me but so many people love it that I might have to give it a try after all.
ReplyDeleteThe cover makes it look like some Harlequin Romance type of thing, but it really isn't! The writing style is kind of unique but for me it was like literary chocolate. I think it is a love it or hate it kind of book but I'd say it is worth a sampling even if you don't end up finishing it.
DeleteI think I've read exactly half of the books you posted about. Now I'm curious about the other five...
ReplyDeleteI don't know which five they are, but I would have to recommend them of course. :)
DeleteI loved The Night Circus & Chime!
