In My Mailbox: July 2012

There were quite a few books on sale for $0.99 on Amazon this month -- that is my excuse for my bad behavior. The good news is I am done with school and not planning on working until I have my baby in November, so I am going to have a LOT of time to read -- or that is the plan, anyway. :)

Borrowed from the Library:
Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo (the last book I ever borrowed from the Provo Library... moment of silence)

NetGalley:
A Different Kind of Normal by Cathy Lamb
The Brides of Rollrock Island by Margo Lanagan (I have been wanting to read something by Margo Lanagan forever, so when I saw that she had something on NetGalley I had to snatch it up)

Received for Review:
The Lieutenant's Whistle by Fred Stemme

Purchased:
The Assassin and the Pirate Lord by Sarah Maas
The Assassin and the Desert by Sarah Maas
The Assassin and the Underworld by Sarah Maas
The Assassin and the Empire by Sarah Maas
Withering Tights by Louise Rennison
City of Bones by Cassandra Clare
The Art of Fielding by Chad Harbach

From Karen at Book Light Graveyard
Cold Kiss by Amy Garvey
I Am Legend by Richard Matheson

Borrowed from my sister:
Understanding the Parables of Jesus Christ by Jay A. Parry and Don Parry

Looks like I'll have plenty to keep me busy for the next month!

  1. Looks like you have a lot to read :)

Understanding the Parables of Jesus Christ is one I've been meaning to pick up. I'm glad you listed that one.

Happy reading! Check out my post.

    1. I had never heard of it, but my sister was going through her books to find one to lend me and that one looked great. I like having something a little more contemplative for Sundays. :)

  2. Oooh, all the pretty books! I loved I AM LEGEND - so much better than the movie, if you've seen it already - and I'm dying to get my hands on a copy of THE ART OF FIELDING. I'm in a total book-buying mania at the moment, but I can't fit any more books into my little room and I reckon my poor mum will have a fit if any more wander into the house anytime soon! ;)

    1. I loved the movie version of I Am Legend and am really looking forward to the book. I think I am going to wait a few months to read it around Halloween. We have just moved and my husband was ready to set fire to my books after boxing them all, so I understand what you mean about getting in trouble for buying too many!

  3. Awesome haul! I'm hoping to read Shadow and Bone this month. I really like the cover and I've heard many great things about it. I can't wait to dig in. :)

    Thanks for sharing!
