In My Mailbox: April 2012

Sunday, May 06, 2012

In My Mailbox is hosted by The Story Siren.

It has been a good month. My little NetGalley ban was broken, although I am hoping to reinstate it because I have too many review books to even get through all of them by the end of the year at this point. (That isn't because I've received so many -- it is because there are so many other non-review books that I also want to read. So many books -- life is hard).

Borrowed from the library:
The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks by E. Lockhart
Real Live Boyfriends by E. Lockhart
The Bronze Horseman by Paullina Simons
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by J.K. Rowling (audiobook)
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J.K. Rowling (audiobook)
The Girl in the Steel Corset by Kady Cross

NetGalley:
A Thunderous Whisper by Christina Diaz Gonzalez
Shadowfell by Juliet Marillier
Kissing Shakespeare by Pamela Mingle
Flutter by Gina Linko
January First by Michael Schofield
The Violinist's Thumb by Sam Kean
A Beautiful Lie by Irfan Master
The Opposite of Hallelujah by Anna Jarzab
Living with Jonathan by Sheila Barton

Purchased:
The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde
The Nevermore Poe Collection by Edgar Allan Poe
Night Swim by Jessica Keener

I know. Shame on me -- that is a lot of NetGalleys. But I am truly TRULY going to avoid the site until I am all caught up (aka, until the year is over, most likely -- I have some physical "guilt list" review copies that I need to read as well).

*Yes, I am still participating in this meme. I know there was a "situation" last week, but it really isn't my business. I enjoy this meme and it has been beneficial to my blog, so I don't see a reason to stop.

  1. I always go a little nuts on net galley too!

You are in for such a treat with the audiobooks of Harry Potter, I love Jim Dale's narration.

    Happy reading :-)

    1. I have really been loving them so far. I'm so impressed that he can come up with different voices for so many characters. Thanks for stopping by!

  2. I love Harry Potter on audio. They are simply amazing.

I also love Kady Cross, and I can't wait to get into the second book in the Steampunk Chronicles series (which is on NetGalley...). Kissing Shakespeare looks great as well!

    Great IMM this week! :)
