Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Sequels I am Dying to Read

Tuesday, September 06, 2011

The Broke and the Bookish's theme for Top Ten Tuesday this week is the top ten sequels we cannot wait to read. While many of these sequels are available, I haven't gotten my hands on all of them and are therefore very excited for when they come up in my reading stack. Here they are:

1. Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins - Okay, it isn't really a sequel. It's a "companion book." I'm still really excited to read it.
2. Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare - I feel like Clockwork Angel really left me hanging. I'm dying to find out what happened to Will and how Tessa became what she is.
3. The Dead-Tossed Waves by Carrie Ryan - I loved The Forest of Hands and Teeth - it was like The Village and I Am Legend combined, and they are two of my favorite scary movies. I can't wait to read the book this October.
4. Pandemonium by Lauren Oliver - Delirium ripped my heart out and left my dying for more. Hopefully Pandemonium can live up to it!
5. Crossed by Ally Condie - I was surprised by how much I enjoyed Matched - I never would have read it had I not won the book in a library contest. However, now I am very excited for the next book to come out and will definitely try to get my hands on it early.
6. Pigs in Heaven by Barbara Kingsolver - The Bean Trees was a life-changing book for me, and when I found out there was a sequel I wasn't sure if I should be excited or sad, because it had one of the few endings that I have ever found completely satisfying. That is why I haven't tried to read Pigs in Heaven yet. However, I am very curious and hoping (hoping!) that it will live up to its predecessor.
7. The Good Muslim by Tahmima Anam - I really enjoyed A Golden Age and am looking forward to reading the next in the series.

That is all I can think of. What series are you excited to continue?

  1. Cassandra Clare kills me with those cliffhangers. The waiting is so hard.

  3. You know for as popular as Matched was when it first came out, I'm surprised that I didn't see Crossed on more lists today!

  8. I dropped by because Kathy at Read This Instead referred me to your blog through her BBAW post this morning.

I'm also looking forward to Lola and Clockwork Prince. City of Lost Souls made my list last week too.

  9. Jenni Elyse - I haven't read any of the Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare yet - I figure I should get through one series at a time - but I am definitely looking forward to getting started with them at some point!
