  1. I read Wings for free on my phone with the Kindle application. It was my first eReader experience and it was okay. I still prefer a real book. The book itself was fun and enjoyable, and I can't wait to read the next two in the series. I hope you like it.

    Water For Elephants...oh my goodness! I read this not too terribly long ago, a little while before the movie came out. I was a bit nervous about it because I had never read a post-Depression era traveling circus book before...but I found that Ms. Gruen was well-educated about the circus culture and she knows a thing or two about the animals she is writing about. There is definitely a love story in there, but it doesn't overwhelm everything else. I just KNOW you will love it. I still haven't seen the movie, but I seriously can't wait...

    And finally, I am having a FIT to read Cutting For Stone. It was one of the NPR Book readalong selections a month or two ago and I wanted to read along with them, but I just wasn't able to fit it into my schedule. Plus I didn't have the book yet. It sounds like a wonderful story.

    Thanks for sharing!

  2. It is good to hear that Wings is a good one! I haven't read anything on a phone but I think it would be tough. I love reading on my e-reader though, especially when I work out because I can make the font larger.

    It's good to hear such a positive review of Water for Elephants. I want to read it before I see the movie so hopefully I will get to it soon!

    I am excited to read Cutting For Stone too! I think I am going to read it next week because I will be visiting my in-laws and I want them to see me reading it and know that I am grateful for it. :) Thanks for your comment!

  3. Holy moly that's a lot of books! And yay for vlogs :o)

    I've tried Midnight's Children by Salman Rushdie and it was too hard to get into. Maybe I should try Haroun.

  4. Yay Haroun! Oh I'm so excited.

    And I am almost done with Luka and the Fire of Life. Oh man. Major literary crush on Salman Rushdie. You should pick that one up after you read Haroun, it's a sequel. Sarah, try him again! I swear, once you get in you never want to leave.

  7. @Sarah - I've heard that Midnight's Children is pretty rough. Haroun was a fun little adventure - I'd love to see it turned into a movie.

    @A Mitton - I've heard Luka is really cool, like a video game or something. Haroun was so fun, I need to write that review soon.

    @MiaandSofia - Gotta love the months with lots of books!

    @Coffee and a Book Chick - Thanks!
